Midlands Choice has named Gary Busack senior director of contracting.  Busack, a Des Moines resident, brings nearly 20 years of managed care, hospital and nursing home administration experience to the company.

Busack will be responsible for contract negotiations with hospitals, group practices, independent physician associations and physician hospital organizations.  He also will lead development and implementation of performance-based contracts and client specific provider network arrangements.

Busack’s previous experience includes management positions at the National Kidney Foundation, Coventry Health Care of Iowa, Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance and Unity Health Plans Insurance. He holds a Masters of Public Health and Hospital Administration from Yale University.
