Bright Health Insurance Company, a new payer with Midlands Choice headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, is offering Individual and Family Health Insurance coverage on and off the Nebraska Insurance Marketplace. The plans will have effective dates beginning January 1, 2020.
Bright Health is offering two types of plans in Nebraska:
- Statewide Access Plans
- Omaha Network Plans
The Statewide Access Plans will utilize the Midlands Choice Network. As a Midlands Choice contracted provider, there is no need to contract separately with Bright Health in order to be participating for patients who have chosen this plan type. The Statewide Access Plans will have access to Midlands Choice contracted providers.
The group number for the Statewide Access Plans is BHPNEMC. Claims for patients with this group number should be submitted to Midlands Choice. The Omaha Network Plans will utilize Nebraska Health Network providers who have contracted directly with Bright Health, not through Midlands Choice.
