Cigna has developed a brief eCourse about electronic precertification submission (ANSI 278 transaction).  It explains information should be provided on these requests so that Cigna can respond faster and efficiently.  It also describes the channels available for checking the status of precertification requests.  Medical and behavioral providers may access the eCourse by logging in to the Cigna for Health Care Professionals website and accessing Resources > eCourses > EDI Electronic Precertification Submission course.
