Beginning January 1, 2016, Cigna Individual and Family Plan (IFP) claim payments became temporarily unavailable by electronic funds transfer (EFT) and will be paid by paper check instead. This is due to Cigna moving all IFPs from Proclaim to the Facets system, which historically has not supported EFT. This affects most providers enrolled in EFT that have patients with Cigna IFP coverage.
Cigna is in the process of enabling EFT claim payments in waves for providers that have patients with GWH-Cigna and “G” ID cards. This includes providers who have patients with IFP coverage in all markets. Therefore, a small number of providers who have patients with IFP coverage already have the EFT capability and are not affected.
