Medica, a new payer with Midlands Choice, will begin marketing to potential members in Nebraska and Iowa beginning November 1, 2015. Medica will be offering individual and family business (IFB) plans both on and off the Nebraska and Iowa Health Insurance Marketplace under the product name "Medica Insure".  Plans will have effective dates beginning January 1, 2016.  

Medica Insure members will access the Midlands Choice network in Iowa and Nebraska. If a Medica Insure member with the new IFB product seeks care at a provider location in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota or western Wisconsin, the provider will be reimbursed according to the provider's Medica Individual Choice rates. Providers that have contracts with both Medica and Midlands Choice will be reimbursed at their Medica Individual Choice rates.
 
Medica will be offering training webinars starting in December for providers that will include an overview of their products, how to submit claims, reimbursement policies, utilization management and more.
