Effective July 1, 2012, all Great-West Healthcare-Cigna (GWH-Cigna) claims with dates of service of July 1 and forward should be submitted directly to GWH-Cigna at the address shown on the member ID card. Claims with dates of service prior to July 1 should continue to be submitted to Midlands Choice.
During the month of June, GWH-Cigna members will be issued new member ID cards that will display the GWH-Cigna claims address: 1000 Great-West Drive, Kennett, MO, 63857-3749. The payer number for claims submitted electronically will be 62308. As always, it is important to ask patients for their most current ID card to obtain the correct claim submission information.
Beginning September 1, 2012, GWH-Cigna claims that are submitted to Midlands Choice with dates of service of July 1 and forward will be returned to the provider for resubmission to the GWH-Cigna address.
Cigna acquired Great-West Healthcare, the health care division of Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Company in 2008. Since that time, the two companies have been working together behind the scenes to integrate in order to provide a common experience for health care professionals.
