Beginning August 1, 2012, Cigna will require precertification for codes listed on the Radiation Therapy Precertification List for participants covered under plans that are administered by Cigna and that require precertification.  This program does not apply to patients with GWH-Cigna or Shared Administration Repricing (SAR) ID cards, or to individuals covered under certain clients’ benefit plans.

Call or visit Cigna’s website to request precertification for the radiation therapy services:

Appeals for medical necessity or precertification decisions for radiation therapy services may be made by telephone, fax or mail:
