The 2012 American Medical Association (AMA) CPT code updates include the addition of 101 new molecular pathology procedure codes ranging from 81200 to 81408. Consistent with the approach taken by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Midlands Choice will not recognize these codes. Continue to bill for molecular pathology services using CPT codes 83890 – 83914. Claims submitted with the new 2012 molecular pathology codes will be repriced with an allowed amount of $0.00.
